A Day In DFW: Texas Tulips

Just north of Dallas lays the prettiest field of tulips, which makes for a perfect day trip activity for you and your friends. Texas Tulips is located in Pilot Point and is a place I look forward to visiting when they open each year.

Tulip season is limited to late February- early April and with the growing popularity of this tulip farm, now is the perfect time to plan a trip. Once the tulips fields are bare, they close for the rest of the season. The entry fee is $5 a person and each tulip is $2.50. Texas Tulips gives you the full experience, providing baskets for your flowers and stands to get your flowers wrapped before you leave.

Unless you live close to the tulip farm, your tulips are going to look pretty sad by the time you get home. Below are my go-to tips to perk your tulips up and keep them looking fresh while they're on display in your home.

My first time visiting Texas Tulips was in 2020. I wrote a more in-depth post on everything you need to know before going which you can read here.

My friends and I only spent about an hour at the tulip farm so to make our trip worth while, we drove 30 minutes to the Denton Square to walk around before making the drive home. We grabbed a coffee at Jupiter House, walked in all of the little boutiques, and had lunch and Board and Barley, which I highly recommend!

A Look Inspired by Lonestar Southern

Putting together outfits has been a struggle recently. I have found myself many mornings standing in my closet just staring at my clothes. The other day I was scrolling through Kate from LonestarSouthern.com 's Instagram feed and saw that she had put together the cutest look with a ruffle sleeve top, jeans, and flats. I had all of those items in my closet so I decided to recreate her look. It was so easy to do and I had never thought of styling these pieces together.

Game Day Ready

Back to school season is right around the corner which means college football is too. Now that I'm going to a school that has a team, I can't wait to dress up and go to all the games with my friends! Today I've rounded up a few fun looks perfect for game day based on your school colors.

Trend Tracking: Western T Shirts

Western and country style has been emerging more within the trendy side of the fashion world recently. Being from Texas, I think it's kind of fun.  Along with bright colored cowboy boots and cow print, you can find many popular fashion influencers wearing western-inspired graphic tees. Today I have rounded up some of my favorites that are all under $40.   YeeHaw T Shirt Wrangler T Shirt //  Cowboy T Shirt //  Cowgirl T Shirt //  Stay Wild T Shirt //  Let's Go Girls T Shirt //  Wild West T Shirt Shilo

Trend Tracking: Cardigans

1  // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9 Sweater cardigans are a hot item at the moment. They are most popularly worn buttoned up as a shirt but are also often seen paired with a solid turtle neck and layered necklaces. I have rounded up nine cardigans I love, all at different price ranges. One thing I love about this trend is the variety. I have some cardigans, like the ones I linked above that I purchased at boutiques and I have others that were my grandma's. I love to wear cardigans with straight leg jeans and booties or fashion sneakers.  shop this cardigan Shilo
