DIY Pineapple String Art

People have been requesting that I do a DIY like crazy! I'm honestly surprised that I haven't done more, I do DIYs at home all the time! So I thought it was time I start listening to my readers. Recently string art has been super popular as home decor that you can purchase in stores but also as a Pinterest DIY.

 Supplies:
  • Green, yellow, and orange string
  • A bright colored paint for the background, I used Tiffany blue
  • Paint brush
  • Scissors
  • 78 nails
  • A hammer
  • Tape
  • Sander (optional)
  • 12"x12" piece of wood
  • Pineapple Template (at the bottom of this post)

Step 1: I didn't take pictures of it but before doing anything I sanded my wood so I wouldn't get a splinter.
Step 2: Put a really thick coat of paint on your wood block. Let it dry over night.
Step 3: Once your wood block is dry, tape the pineapple template to the wood board.
Step 4: Hammer your nails into the pink circles on the pineapple template

It should look something like this once you've put all of the nails in it.
Step 5: Pull the paper straight up to remove it. Once you have removed the paper there might be a few pieces of paper that you might have to pull out from under the nails.
Step 6: Tie the yellow string around one of the nails
Step 7: Wrap the string around the circular part of the pineapple
Step 8: Zig zag the yellow string around the circular part of the pineapple
Step 9: Once you have done your desired amount tie off the string on one of the nails
Step 10: Repeat steps 8 and 9 with the orange string and do it again with the yellow string on top of the orange string

Step 11: Zig zag the green string around the top, there is no special way to do this, I just had to experiment with the way I wanted this to look. Once you're done tie it off.
And you're done!
Save this template to your computer and print it to use as a guide.

Collective Clothing Haul

Today I'm sharing a little collective clothing haul video and talking about all the new clothing items I have picked up in the past month.

Trend Tracking: Printed Mini Skirts

Printed mini skirts are everywhere currently and I think they are the cutest thing! I have quite a few in my cart right now and I can't decide which ones I want to order. Today I have rounded up 15 printed skirts that would be so cute on you if you love the trend as much as I do. So many retailers have joined in on the trend that I have found skirts for everyone's price range!

My Favorite Red Boots

These boots weren't made for walking, especially after the foot surgeries I've had but they are so cute! Honestly they really aren't that uncomfortable, I'm just not used to wearing anything with a heel. I picked these boots up while roaming through Belk last week and had no intention of buying anything while I was there until I spotted these. They are currently about 70% off so they are only $20! For that price I could not pass them up! They come in eight different colors and patterns and they are such a fun statement piece.

Meet My Corgi!

Last weekend was a very exciting one for my family. We welcomed a new little furry friend into our home.

Two Francesca's Dresses I'm Loving

Exciting news: I got a job! I now work at Francesca's and I absolutely love it. I had never purchased anything at Fran's until I got the job and I'm just now realizing how cute their clothes are. My sister and I did a little bit of summer shopping in there the other day and I picked up these two gorgeous dresses.  Sadly, neither one of these dresses are available for purchase on their website anymore but I would still check in your local boutique, I know ours still has quite a few of both of them in stock. The good news is, new arrivals are 60% off online right now so you can find lots of other exciting items! I fell in love with this dress when it first came to the boutique. I love the straps that tie in a bow, the color palette, and the fun hem. This dress can definitely be worn a ton of different ways. You can dress it up with a pair of heels for dinner or dress it down with sandals. I can't wait to wear it in the fall with a fun pair of booties and a denim jacket to
