DIY Pineapple String Art

People have been requesting that I do a DIY like crazy! I'm honestly surprised that I haven't done more, I do DIYs at home all the time! So I thought it was time I start listening to my readers. Recently string art has been super popular as home decor that you can purchase in stores but also as a Pinterest DIY.

 Supplies:
  • Green, yellow, and orange string
  • A bright colored paint for the background, I used Tiffany blue
  • Paint brush
  • Scissors
  • 78 nails
  • A hammer
  • Tape
  • Sander (optional)
  • 12"x12" piece of wood
  • Pineapple Template (at the bottom of this post)

Step 1: I didn't take pictures of it but before doing anything I sanded my wood so I wouldn't get a splinter.
Step 2: Put a really thick coat of paint on your wood block. Let it dry over night.
Step 3: Once your wood block is dry, tape the pineapple template to the wood board.
Step 4: Hammer your nails into the pink circles on the pineapple template

It should look something like this once you've put all of the nails in it.
Step 5: Pull the paper straight up to remove it. Once you have removed the paper there might be a few pieces of paper that you might have to pull out from under the nails.
Step 6: Tie the yellow string around one of the nails
Step 7: Wrap the string around the circular part of the pineapple
Step 8: Zig zag the yellow string around the circular part of the pineapple
Step 9: Once you have done your desired amount tie off the string on one of the nails
Step 10: Repeat steps 8 and 9 with the orange string and do it again with the yellow string on top of the orange string

Step 11: Zig zag the green string around the top, there is no special way to do this, I just had to experiment with the way I wanted this to look. Once you're done tie it off.
And you're done!
Save this template to your computer and print it to use as a guide.

Luv Ya!

My Mom Picks Out My Outfits

Trend Tracking: Cardigans

1  // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9 Sweater cardigans are a hot item at the moment. They are most popularly worn buttoned up as a shirt but are also often seen paired with a solid turtle neck and layered necklaces. I have rounded up nine cardigans I love, all at different price ranges. One thing I love about this trend is the variety. I have some cardigans, like the ones I linked above that I purchased at boutiques and I have others that were my grandma's. I love to wear cardigans with straight leg jeans and booties or fashion sneakers.  shop this cardigan Shilo
