I was cleaning out my closet earlier this week and realized just how many flannels I have. I love them but I don't wear them anymore. I don't love the look of just a button flannel and skinny jeans, it gives me flashbacks to my eighth grade wardrobe... Naturally, I went to Pinterest for some outfit inspiration so that I can start giving my flannel shirts some love again.
Here is what I came across on Pinterest. I love the look of turtle necks underneath t shirts and button ups and I recently bought one that I thought could potentially make this outfit work. I didn't have the right sneakers to pair with this look but I can across a few pictures where they were styling this outfit with black booties which is what I ended up going with.
Here's the look I came up with. I added my black turtleneck crop top under the flannel and buttoned the flannel about half way. I did a front tuck with one side of the shirt- this look became popular in 2018 when button up shirts were all over the runway. The only distressed jeans I have are this pair of straight leg jeans so I wore those and finished off the look with black booties from target and my favorite paperclip chain necklace.
I created this entire look with items I had in my closet already. I love the way the outfit came out and I never would've thought to style these pieces this way otherwise, thank you Pinterest!

Haha I totally feel those 8th grade flashbacks when I wear flannels... I love how you styled it here. Those ripped jeans and the chain necklace make the outfit super trendy!
